Bloc Party

Whenever I hear Bloc Party, I always think of Skins.
But more Tony and Michelle, with a hint of Freddie.
Reminds me of those crazy teens from Bristol, and their cool names.
Tony, Sid, Cassie, Michelle, Jal, Chris, Maxxie and Anwar.
Effy, Freddie, Cook, JJ, Emily, Katie, Naomi, Pandora and Thomas.

British names.
Excited for season 4 soon.
Anything with more Luke Pasqualino is tip toppy.

Lazy monday

Sitting outside on my deck.
Ginger beer, complete with a crazy straw of course, wishing my laptop was all white. The most part is actually black, and I've been out here for about 40mins already and its starting to get slightly warmish.
It's a One Tree Hill type of day. They always seem to be walking around their tree-lined streets visiting everyone in their small neighbourhood. It is absolutely perfect weather for dragging my friends to the little park by my house, and swinging on the "big person" swings. I would do that if everyone didn't live on the other side of town from me.
I might see if I can convince Bubbles to come with me once Simon has left.
She only brings him around when its holidays (a.k.a Parent-free days), and then smuggles him off so nobody else can talk to him.

It's a warm breeze, there is nothing better than swinging on a warm breezy day. If Chippa was still here, I'd take him for a walk around Hagley. I miss that little dirty, fluffy Bichon so much.
My hair is still really curly from last nights formal practice (dress is finished, so I had to try out the entire ensemble), so when the breeze comes past, it pushes them up into my face and I feel a bit Hermione Granger circa Philosopher's Stone.
Speaking of which, I heard on the radio that they are going to be making the last two movies into 3D? What fresh hell is this? And since the last one will be converted, they will be 3D-ing the first 6 movies. Utterly ridiculous.
Harry Potter is not a three-dimensional movie. I wont go and see it in 3D, so they better still have good old 2D available for me :)

Return of the shake-attack!

Return of the elusive shake attack!
My eldest sister has just returned from Australia, and Nathan has taken up the oppourtunity to have a shakeattack. Since she's been away, I haven't seen him with one. We thought he might be dying.
New phone is yay.
New friends are yay.
On break from term now, April holidays are the best, the summer/autumn transit.

So many birthdays coming up, Forest's first and then Loren's, party season me thinks.

And formal! Less than a month and a half! Good grevious nights of columbus.
Who am I taking?

MJF Update

FINALLY got my hands on a copy of Always Looking Up! I am about 20 pages in and already loving it :) I might have to buy myself both books (then number 3 coming soon! )
Ahh, i've been youtube-ing all the Vancouver stuff he did for the Olympics, gotta say I love the ice hockey commercial (Watch it NOW!) , he has still got it, and we love him for it.

Been having a bit of a Michael J Fox Marathon (now theres an idea Gormagon...) Watching BTTF Part 3 yesterday instead of doing biology study and then watching Part 1 in my study period today, best use I have found my iPod yet.
I think I might get Teen Wolf out from the Civic this weekend, be the best hangover cure for sunday, that and bacon and spinich sandwiches.

I'm desperately trying to get my friends to read his books, they are honestly quite moving, and its not just because he is one of my favourite actors, its because he is one of the most inspirational people in the world. I truly feel like everything he writes about overcoming this disease can be applied to so many situations, even the titles of the two biographies, Lucky Man and " policy, even the second or third. And what a huge obstacle Parkinson's Disease is.
Maybe Michael J Fox's books will be my new bibles, how I approach life and look at oppourtunities.

What would MJF do?

Plus, he is a cutie.

Formal season ladies!

As part of the Y13 Social Committee at my school, we have the BEST pleasure (oo-er) of organizing our school Formal for this year! Honestly, that is like me in a nutshell :D

So naturally, as I have the best dressmaker in the world for a Mum, the dress preparations have already begun!

Being well me, i've chosen 1950s as my theme, and red as my colour scheme, since I can't imagine myself wearing any other colour :) I hunted down this gorgeous pattern at Fabric Vision the past weekend, and if you can imaging the black bodice with a GIANT ballroom skirt in a delicious deep red, you pretty much have my [ideal, yet actual] dress :)

I'm thinking best dressed?

I'll of course have my elbow length gloves, pearls and curly up-do. And whomever I take, will have the matching red bowtie to finish up our attire.

The girls and I want to do the whole pre-drinkies and all get a Limo to the place etc, and then the required piss-up at the 'forbidden' afterparty.

Yay for being a senior!

Texts from last night.

Nice Sunday used relaxing and working on my projects, probably should have been doing school work, but that really just wasn't going to happen.

I think only four words sums up mine and Forest's evening at Char's birthday drinks.

Bodybuilders and Shaun White.

CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY night.

loving the last night blue photos, find them here:

New project.

Inspired by boredom and books, i've started a new project.

Considering I have about 3,000 chapters of Pride and Prejudice to read, and two ongoing biology assesments, not to mention the difficult Latin translations I still have to complete by Tuesday, this probabbly isn't the best time to start something.

Hopefully, with my seemingly inherited ability to pick up on things easily, this won't take me long.

But.... It's a secret!

My first trial of it is already in action, depending on how this goes, it might take me longer.

One clue though :

Town town town

First and foremost, jean shorts are not cool/fashionable and never will be, and i'm referring to you, people of Christchurch.
I've been town-ing the past few days, and because of the World Busker's Festival being on, there has been an awful abundance of jean-short-wearing-New Zealanders. I am about 80% sure that I even saw a whole family of jean-shorts.
I am still blooming number 28 or so on the waiting list for MJF.
But me and F-meisterooo [hawhaw] have almost every single episode of Bones as a recap for Season 5 [finally] coming on Tv3 on Sundays :) In short : Mmmm Seeley Booth, Yay Booth Brenann love, King of the LAB and Gormagon.

Going to watch the fire dancing in town tomorrow night, should be brillopads and amazeballs.
Let's just hope one of the aussies manages to set himself on fire :)

One of them actually does that spinning balls thing that David Bowie does in the Labyrinth? Its actually quite cool for street theatre. [which is rarely barely acceptable.]

And I am going to have a hilarious night on Friday, drinks at TS's, with that hilarious bunch of boys. I think I might have to make a little mischeif.

YOU BUMPED INTO THE CIELING, WHICH NOW HAS TO BE WASHED, AND STERILIZED, SO YOU GET NOTHING! YOU LOSE! GOOD DAY SIR!

King of the lab for ultimate WONKA RAGE reference.
